Phillip Island events and what's happening

Phillip Island's Grand Prix Circuit hosts two world-class motorcycle championships, the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) and Superbike World Championship, making it a popular venue for international motorsport events.

This summer's chockers with a swag of local markets to hit up.

Mates can check out a bonza selection of locally sourced goodies, arts and crafts, threads, and tucker and drinks at the Churchill Island Farmers Market, Island Foreshore Market, and Cowes Sunday Market. These markets are a fair dinkum treasure trove of unique bits and bobs and offer a top-notch vibe for having a squiz and snagging some finds.

Island Whale Festival

Phillip Island's coastal waters are the place to be for the yearly visit from humpback and southern right whales, and you might even spot a killer whale.

The Island Whale Festival is scattered around Phillip Island, with the Festival Hub pitching its tent in Cowes at the new Berninneit Cultural Centre. Both locals and blow-ins can join in on a stack of activities that spotlight the wildlife and pristine habitats of Phillip Island and the Bass Coast region.

The festival weekend's packed with all sorts, including whale spotting, cruises, yarns, crafty stuff, art shows, film screenings, and heaps more.

Grug is from picture books

Spinning out from a ripper of a picture book, this show's been a hit with over 50,000 kiddos and their families worldwide and is a beaut pick for the young ones keen on theatre. It's a cracking opportunity to catch a top-tier kids' show.

Support children by walking

The George Bass Walk is an 8-kilometre route that includes paved paths along the Kilcunda foreshore and the George Bass Walk from Shelley Beach in Kilcunda to Punch Bowl Road near San Remo.

Shuttle buses will transport walkers from San Remo to the start of the walk at Kilcunda and back from Punch Bowl to San Remo. Buses begin at 9:00 am.

Phillip Island Tour

The Town Walk in San Remo is a 3-kilometre route designed for families, individuals with prams, or those who cannot do the George Bass Walk. It also includes a trivia component with questions to answer along the way.

To get your Trivia question sheet, go to the Registration desk at the San Remo Hotel on Good Friday morning. The walk must be finished by 2:00 pm to enter the Easter hamper draw. If you're up for it, you can sign up to do both walks.

All funds collected will be allocated to the Good Friday Appeal.
